Is computer-aided design (CAD) a good course for a high school jun. to take whose looking into interior design?

i'm skipping a year of science and have a period to fill up for my schedule next year. the school next door to my school offers CAD and i deciding whether or not to take it (i go to an all girl's school, next door is all boys school--can switch back and forth to take different cles). anyway, i plan on majoring in interior design for college and having a minor in psychology. is CAD a good course to take for someone interested in interior design? will it look good for really 'picky' colleges? (i want to get into DAAP at the university of cincinnati and they can be picky about people they accept) thanks in advance!!
