How do I clean a fleece saddle pad?

I have a fleece pad I use for showing and normally just wash it with regular detergent and a warm/cold water or just cold water. I then hang it out to dry, drying it in a dryer will shrink. Try some bleach if it needs to be whiter. Also try washing it by itself, I do that with mine b/c its usually covered in horse hair, but other colors could bleed and etc.
