What is the relationship between the process of mitosis and cytokinesis?

Cytokinesis is not a part of mitosis, they are two separate things. As the previous answerer staed, mitosis is merely a precursor (a preparation of the cell and its chromosomes, if you will) to Cytokinesis which is the phase in which the cell is physically split into two.
